In this exciting role, you will participate in the systems development life cycle for new development, enhancements and maintenance projects in Hadoop/Big data environment. The Hadoop Architect will work to strategically design, develop and implement application architecture and data architecture for enterprise-level applications and systems
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide end to end Hadoop development solution. Develop Hadoop architectural approach to meet key business objectives
- Must have excellent coding knowledge in Map/MapReduce, Java and Shell Scripts
- Must have excellent coding knowledge in Hadoop tools i.e Hive, HBase, Pig, Pivotal HD tools, Scoop etc..
- Must able to do code walkthrough/review on day to day basis and provide inputs
- Follow agile model and must able to come up with a plan for Unit testing/Test cases/expected Results, Integration testing/Cases/Expected results and work with business team for UAT
- Work with business owners, analysts, solution engineers, development teams and infrastructure services to communicate Hadoop application and data architectures
- Take directions from leadership and execute independently
- Conduct vendor analysis and proof-of-concepts for new Hadoop technologies/solutions

- Understand application design and capability requirements and technical environment to architect the optimal solution
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence and consult (providing options with pros, cons and risks) while providing thought leadership to sponsors/stakeholders in solving business process and/or technical problems
- Be hands-on in supporting the development process
- Direct and perform data migration and/or integration needs
- Direct and perform quality assurance on deliverables and work products
- Ensure and direct best practices for application architecture both strategically and tactically
- Organisational, communication, and relationship skills
