We are excited to partner with an innovative fast-growing Australian Technolgy Company who now looking to build out their Data Engineering Team. You will become a key player in building out their data engineering platform. So we are looking for a hands-on engineer who is a builder of stuff! however, an engineer who can collaborate with the executive team to make strategic decisions.

• Collaborate with product development, data science and marketing teams to review and standardise architectural approaches to data engineering.
• Experience in the retail or e-commerce domains would be of high interest to this role.
• This role would suit a Senior or Lead Data Engineer who is looking to develop their strategic skills but also is great at hands-on building.
• Design and implement data models in Snowflake and assist with landing and migration of datasets
• Use your software engineering skills to write reusable workflow tasks in python and make contributions to open source tools as required
• Take on responsibility for the roadmap of business-critical capabilities in areas such as orchestration, warehousing, streaming, data cataloguing or governance
• Contribute to our modern data architecture plan, propose and evaluate new tools
• As a senior engineer, you will ensure best practices are followed to archive robustness, failure tolerance and scalability

• A Bachelor, Masters, in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Advanced knowledge of data storage, ETL, data modelling and SQL.
• Experience with modern data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake or AWS Redshift.
• Strong focus on building scalable distributed solutions.
• Experience with DevOps concepts and tools e.g. continuous integration and containerisation (Docker and Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication skills organised and motivated.
• Strong team player with an inclusive mindset that is willing to listen and learn from others.
